10 quail eggs or 5 chicken eggs

10 g dried shrimp (seasoned) or shrimp

100g red shallots

100g green spring onion

80g satay (Vietnamese Satay Only)

25 ml Vietnamese shrimp paste

50g cooking oil

Mayonnaise

When the eggs are slightly cooked, add the dry shrimp and red shallots.

Drizzle chili sauce and mayonnaise on top of the cake.

Pan-baked rice paper

Here are the ingredients needed to prepare a serving of 2 people. Depending on the quantity, you can increase the ingredients accordingly.


Rice paper: about 10 pieces


Minced or ground meat: 100gr


Dried shrimp: 100gr


Quail eggs: 20 eggs. You can use eggs.


Sausage: 3 pieces


Green onions: 10g


Condiments: chili, sugar, unsalted butter, salt, chili sauce, mayonnaise,...


Tools: non-stick pan, stove, cutting board, knife,...


2. How to make simple and quick pan-baked rice paper

Making rice paper baked with a non-stick pan is not as sophisticated as baking with a charcoal stove. With just a few simple steps, you will make "the oven" hot, crispy, greasy cakes.


2.1. How to prepare ingredients

In order to have a delicious cake, the preliminary processing of ingredients must not be overdone.


Scallions are washed, cut into small pieces and kept separately the head and leaves.


Sausage cut into diagonal slices, thin to eat.


Minced meat marinated with a little seasoning to taste.


Dried shrimp should be washed and drained.


If using chicken eggs, you can beat them first and stir them in a bowl, or pour them directly on the cake at the step of baking the rice paper with a pan .


2.2. How to make pan-baked rice paper in just 4 steps

Step 1: Stir-fry the meat


Heat a non-stick pan on the stove until hot, add a tablespoon of oil.

When the onions are just golden, add the minced meat and stir-fry.


Wait for about 2 minutes until the meat is fully absorbed, then turn off the heat.


Step 2: Bake the cake


Heat a non-stick pan on the stove until it is hot, then adjust the heat to low.


Put the rice paper in the pan. Then butter the cake evenly.


Add about 1 tablespoon of ground meat along with some scallions.


Crack 2 quail eggs on top of the cake. Then use a spatula or a clean brush to spread the eggs and ingredients evenly over the surface of the cake.


Note: If using eggs, you need to add a sufficient amount to avoid making the cake to soft.


Step 3: Add sausage, dried shrimp


When the cake is almost cooked, add a few slices of sausage and sprinkle some dried shrimp on top of the cake.
